Borak Species

The Borak are one of the most enigmatic species in the galaxy, known for their unique physical attributes and remarkable adaptability. Their bones consist of aluminum-magnesium-silicate, providing strength and flexibility, while their skin possesses a mica-like sheen due to the presence of silicon dioxide. This distinctive biology enables them to thrive in environments rich in radiation and heat.

Borak are humanoid in form, equipped with two legs and two arms. Their siloxane-based muscles boast strength and heat resistance, making them powerful by the standards of carbon-based lifeforms. They breathe out Silicon Dioxide and require special respirators to prevent their exhalations from mixing with human-breathable air.

Notably, their infrared and potentially ultraviolet vision allows them to navigate their often radially hazardous environments, where visibility might be limited. The Borak also enjoy an extended lifespan—twice that of normal humans—thanks to silicon's stability in higher temperatures, resulting in improved resilience to aging and environmental stresses.

As natural prospectors, miners, metallurgists, and engineers, the Borak possess an innate affinity for raw materials and resource extraction. Their unique adaptations enable them to endure and prosper in hostile conditions, making them invaluable in engineering projects throughout the galaxy. Their presence often indicates substantial mineral wealth in the areas they inhabit, though their enigmatic nature leaves many curious about their long-term goals and motivations.
