Human Martian Species
Martians, also known as Thinworlders, are genetically modified human variants specifically engineered to thrive in thin-atmosphere environments. They were originally created to populate Mars. Their adaptations allow them to live and work effectively under conditions that would be challenging for standard humans.
Martians are characterized by their taller, barrel-chested physiques, which increase their resistance to ultraviolet radiation and enable their lungs to function efficiently at low atmospheric pressure. These modifications make them exceptionally suited for life on Mars and other similar worlds with thin atmospheres.
With a population exceeding 10 billion spread across the Terran Empire, Martians have established communities on various planets, but Mars remains their primary home. Their unique genetic traits allow them to excel in roles where high endurance and resilience are essential, such as exploration, mining, and scientific research.
